Yeast Infections and Clothing Choices
Posted on | December 20, 2008 | No Comments
Clothing choices can affect yeast infections.
Yeast infections are caused by an over abundance of small organisms called Candida Albicans. Consider what these little characters enjoy.
- darkness
- warmth
- moisture
Perfect! If your crotch area is dark, warm, and moist (which it usually is), a population explosion can occur.
To combat this explosion, try to make the correct clothing choices.
- wear cotton panties
- wear clean clothing
- wear breathable, loose clothing
- use environmentally friendly clothing detergents and fabric softeners
- do not wear tight fitting clothes (I know you look awesome in those tight jeans, but …)
- avoid synthetic materials (don’t forget to check your night wear as well)
- avoid frequent use of pantyhose or leotards
- change quickly after swimming
- change out of sweaty workout clothes as quickly as possible
- don’t wear underwear 24 hours solid (best to wear night clothes that do not fit tight like most panties; if you must wear panties to bed, change twice a day minimum)
Please. Give up a little fashion, especially if you seem prone to recurring bouts of yeast infections.
Candida Yeast Infection Treatment : Desensitization (EPD) For Candida
Posted on | September 21, 2008 | No Comments
There is a relatively effective though one-dimensional treatment for candida yeast infection called immunotherapy. In this treatment yeast infection patients are ordered to avoid the consumption of basically all yeasty foods and sugary foods and are given allergenic substance in dilute doses normally in the form of oral drops or injection to enhance the immune abilities of the body and reduce the allergic response.
The method also called Enzyme Potentiated Desensitization (EPD) was developed by Len McEwen, M.D. (London) in the mid-60′s. The newest form of this treatment is called Low Dose Allergens or LDA.
In this treatment the patients receive up to three injections every two months and for a maximum period of two years, depending on the patients response to the therapy. The enzymes are suppose to enhance the candida infection strength and may treat several other groups of allergens along the way.
The EPD treatment for candida yeast infection goes like this:
For a period of ten days before the first injection, the patients are given Sporanox, which is an anti fungal for systematic candida, and De-Nol an anti- gastric ulcer agent that reduces the ability of candida to plant its roots in the mucus linings of the intestinal tract.
For approximately 3 days before the injection, patients undergo a semi-fast in which they need to avoid the consumption of all food allergens combined with the intake of the following supplements that improve the effectiveness of the EPD treatment: Zinc, Folic acid and Vitamin D3.
The response of the EPD treatment for candida yeast infection varies among patients. Some patients may experience sudden and dramatic improvement that wears off in time while some need increased doses through longer intervals until improvement is maintained.
Either way, EPD is not a permanent solution for candida. EPD is after all a one-dimensional treatment that focuses merely on the dietary and allergy reaction factor that trigger candida overgrowth. EPD’s effects wear off in time and If you have significant gut problems, bacterial infections, parasites or systematic candida, EPD will not work.
The only way one can ever overcome candida yeast infection is by tackling all candida-contributing factors, the holistic way, not just the dietary or allergy triggering factors. By fixing the internal cause of candida overgrowth, all candida related symptoms would banish, permanently along with the feeling of increased energy, improved vision, health and well-being.

10 Signs You May Have A Yeast Infection
Posted on | September 19, 2008 | 1 Comment
A yeast infection, known as candidiasis in scientific circles, and sometimes referred to as thrush, is best known for causing a white or whitish discharge in sufferers. If left undiagnosed, a yeast infection could lead to more serious diseases, which, in a person with a weakened immune system, could even be life-threatening.
Here are 10 ten signs you might have a yeast infection.
Here are five general symptoms which will almost always be present no matter which kind of candidiasis you have.
1. The affected body part itches severely. Yeast infections prefer to grow in locations where scratching is difficult, such as the mouth or the vagina. Human skin affected by a yeast infection will have red rashes, which may be more pronounced in in areas with hair growing on them.
2. The affected body part feels like it burns, or is sore to the touch. This may not necessarily cause blisters or include itchiness. On the other hand, the same body part can feel tingly or numb.
3. Sensitivity to certain chemicals is heightened. Items that cause reactions include antibiotics, sugar, refined carbohydrates (also known as most processed food), and of course, yeast.
4. Your coordination may be affected. Sufferers cannot balance themselves or move the way they want. They cannot focus on tasks, and become lazy through no fault of their own. Mood swings and heightened negative emotions are other indicators.
5. In genital and digestive systems there is a white or whitish mucous discharge. In the mouth, there are white or whitish patches. Both the discharge and the patches have the consistency and smell of bread or a light cheese, though the smell can also be associated with beer.
There are also symptoms specific to the body parts affected by candidiasis, five of which are discussed below.
1. In gastrointestinal candidiasis, the digestive system is upset. The stomach in particular either bloats with constipation, or it acts up due to diarrhea or abdominal cramps (or, at times, both). Bowel movement is not spared either, because yeast infection can cause irritable bowel syndrome.
2. Women are the primary victims of genitourinary candidiasis (associated with reproductive organs and the urinary system), but men are also susceptible, and not just through sexual intercourse. Ladies may have unusual menstrual cramps while gentlemen may have prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate gland). Sexual intercourse is painful and urination becomes more urgent for sufferers of yeast infection.
3. Oral candidiasis causes dryness inside the mouth. The tongue cracks and the gums bleed. Fissures appear at the corners of the mouth. Swallowing becomes difficult.
4. In respiratory candidiasis, persistent coughing, wheezing, or shortness of breath can manifest. Another indicator is when the chest constantly tightens or is in pain.
5. Candidiasis causes chronic inflammation and irritation of the eye and the conjunctivae (the mucous that covers the white area of the eye). The retina (the nerve-ended part which captures images for the brain) may defend itself against yeast infection by collecting pus inside an inflamed tissue pocket. This may permanently damage the sufferer’s eyesight.
One last note of caution: despite the fact that you can name ten signs you might have yeast infection, you may actually suffer no symptoms at all. Or you may bear symptoms similar to those of other sicknesses. If you feel that something is wrong (whether on the above list or not) but cannot put a finger on it, be sure to consult a doctor.
Candida Yeast Infection And The Metal Toxicity Connection
Posted on | September 14, 2008 | No Comments
The intense existence of harmful chemicals and toxic metals in our environment, in the medicines that we take, in the food that we eat and even in our dental fillings, creates a huge challenge for our body to effectively rid itself from these toxins resulting in a vicious cycle that manifests itself in a variety of symptoms and health problems, among them is candida albicans overgrowth that causes the symptoms of yeast infection to appear.
Chemical and toxic metal build up inside the body can also lead to hormonal imbalance, genetic alterations, immune system failure, poor elimination, slower healing process, skin problems, allergies and nerve and brain damage.
The presence of heavy metals in the body (lead, silver, mercury) coming from food, the air that we breath, medicines and dental fillings (contain 50% amalgam), create an acidic and anaerobic (lacks oxygen) environment that encourages candida yeast overgrowth.
When there is toxic metal overload in the intestine, the intestinal lining produces extra mucus to block metals from being absorbed into the blood stream. The problem is that this mucus creates an environment which lacks oxygen, and thus encourages bacteria and fungi like organisms such as candida yeast to grow out of control.
Moreover, candida binds to heavy metals (even in your amalgam fillings) and overgrows as the body performs a desperate attempt to protect itself against heavy metal poisoning.
A deep metal detoxification combined with the gradual removal of amalgam dental filling and replacing them with safer white fillings is one of the most important and fundamental steps in battling candida yeast infection and restoring the body back into balance.

Yeast Infection Knowledge – The Truth Behind Your Yeast Infection
Posted on | September 7, 2008 | No Comments
Educating yourself about your candida infection is the first and most important step in curing this painful, annoying and relatively dangerous chronic condition and taking responsibility over your health and well-being.
Although yeast infection (known by the names of Candida, Monilia or Thrush) is in fact a very common condition, (as three out of four women develop it at some point in their lifetimes), it is little discussed. Most people regard candida infection as a ‘on the surface’ problem that should be treated with creams and antibiotics whereas few are aware of its potentially risky complications.
Yeast Infection is first and foremost an internal problem. Like most chronic conditions, there is never one cause for this fungal problem and thus yeast infection cannot be permanently eliminated using medications or creams that work superficially and fail to tackle the root factors that trigger the formation of candida infection in the first place.
The problem is that the majority of yeast infection sufferers choose to leave it in the hands of others: Doctors, pharmacists, drug and over the counter industries. They willingly choose NOT to take responsibility for their candida condition, for their health and for their own body.
If you suffer from yeast infection then you must have experienced the confusion stemmed from conflicting advice and from information overload. Honest information about vaginal yeast infection or any other type of candida infection is harder to come by than ever before, and nearly everyone has been misled at one time or another. I know I have. I wasted literally thousands of dollars on candida treatment programs that didn’t “work out” and anti-yeast infection products that didn’t do anything.
Furthermore, to successfully navigate through today’s jungle of misleading, dishonest and conflicting information, you’re going to have to become a very shrewd and discriminating consumer.
There are in fact, alternative, cheap, safe, natural and holistic health practices and methods necessary to permanently eliminate the symptoms of this disease and cure the root internal cause of yeast infection regardless of its type, location, or level of severity.
To effectively overcome candida infection, you need to be aware of the real cause of yeast infection and be able to identify its symptoms. You need to know how to self-test and diagnose your candida condition, learn about the dietary principals needed to maintain a candida free environment and about the complimentary treatments that will help you battle against the negative effects and complications of your yeast infection.
By educating yourself about the steps you need to take in order to deal with your candida infection condition and help your body heal itself and control the fungal overgrowth from the inside out you can and will eliminate the pain, annoyance, humiliation and frustration associated with this condition and feel more in control. Additionally, as a side benefits you’ll feel more energized, healthier and vibrant. You will enjoy improved digestion, enhanced vision, and healthier hair, skin and nails.
Knowledge is power. Embrace it. Share it and apply it and you will be yeast infection free.

Yeast Infection Causes

There are certain issues some people are embarrassed to even talk to their doctors about. Some that we are ashamed to even mention to a sister or mother, in fear of a judgmental look or a rude comment. Unfortunately, these types of feelings and fears about a subject can keep us from learning the steps to prevention and treatment of so many illnesses.
Yeast infection is one of these “taboo” subjects.
Yeast infections are a part of life, and unfortunately, part of womanhood in general (but don’t fret ladies, men get them too! Must be some sort of divine revenge.) A yeast infection is NOT a sexually transmitted disease. Yeast infection causes range from prescription medications to hormonal changes, and many things between.
Most of us do not know that many prescription strength antibiotics can lead to a miserable yeast infection. This is because the drugs in the prescription throw off the natural Ph of your body, thus causing bacterial growth. This can be easily avoided by combining your medication with a daily consumption of yogurt. The yogurt will replace cultures that are removed or shifted with the use of antibiotics. Another easy option is to take a vitamin supplement called Acidophilis. This supplement works to maintain the body’s natural Ph, thus warding off the dreaded yeast infection.
Even though a yeast infection is not considered a primarily sexually transmitted disease, it can still be passed from one person to another. Yeast infections have the same bacterial composition as jock itch. Sexual partners can pass a yeast infection back and forth so it’s best to abstain while experiencing active symptoms. You probably won’t be feeling at your freshest anyway, so sex may not be the first thing on your mind, but let the embarrassment of possible transfer be a deterrent. There are some things that are not worth sharing.
Hormonal changes are one of the most common ways that a yeast infection can slither into your life. Most women experience at least one yeast infection during pregnancy. With all of the hormones that are changing during this time, your body is fighting to keep up with it. Even during life changes like menopause and more common times like your monthly cycle. These are all times that your hormones are seemingly unbalanced.
Yeast infections are by no means rare. They are just as common, or even more so, as the flu. There is almost no way to completely prevent yeast infections, but you can ward them off a little by keeping yogurt in your diet.
(NOTE: Although the comments we make in the above article are normally accurate, you should always verify any course of action with your health care professional before beginning. Natural substances are not always safe when taken in combination with other drugs, or even other natural ingredients.)
